The way the technology is moving ahead is like going into a MATRIX. Whether we are ready OR not, we are to be fully immersed into the subsumed reality very soon. Our daily activities shall be superimposed with these technologies – within the next year or so, if not sooner!!
The three terms that might engulf us from the board-room to the bed-room are below:
Virtual reality : VR which can be referred to as immersive multimedia or computer-simulated reality, replicates an environment that simulates a physical presence in places in the real world or an imagined world, allowing the user to interact in that world.
Virtual reality – It is not a real world that we live, but a computer graphics world
Augmented reality: Augmented reality (AR) is a live, direct or indirect view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented (or supplemented) by computer-generated sensory input such as sound, video, graphics or GPS data.
Augmented reality – Information is overlayed on the real world – for the user to view
Mixed reality: Mixed reality (MR)— also referred to as hybrid reality—is the merging of real and virtual worlds to produce new environments and visualizations where physical and digital objects co-exist and interact in real time.
Mixed reality MR – merging of real and virtual worlds to produce new environments
What is the correct technology for my end-user: Delivering the content that is useful for the user – makes the success factor for the selection of the appropriate technology for the use case.
Training can be given in AR/ VR/ MR – only the use case differs!!
Our solutions to the end customer shall be appropriate on the long term – with respect to B2B/ B2C users
Next blog shall be concentrating on Industry 4.0 solutions with AR & IIOT solutions!!
